“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” Victor Hugo
Greetings! I hope that everyone had a GREAT summer. It is hard to believe that fall is around the corner, kids are back in school, and the Symphony season is upon us. The San Antonio Symphony kicks off its 2016 – 2017 concert season with “Carmina Burana” at the Tobin. This is a concert that should not be missed!
I am very pleased to share that last season, through the generous help of our League members, we donated $200,000 to our San Antonio Symphony. It was our largest annual donation to the orchestra in the League’s 65 year history. We so appreciate each of you for making this donation a reality!
It has been a very busy summer as we welcome new and existing members of the SASL Board of Directors. Committee Chairs have been working hard, planning a wonderful series of SASL events for the upcoming season.
Our membership dues and Belle billings were consolidated and streamlined, hopefully making it more efficient for all of our members. We are excited to move many of our meetings and social events into private homes to provide a more “unique” and “intimate” experience for our members. Plans for Symphony Ball 2017 are well underway. The Season Opener, Holiday Coffee, Orchestra Luncheons, Belle Style Show, Spring Evening Out, as well as many other events, will be upon us very quickly. It is going to be a FANTASTIC year for the League and our Symphony! Please get involved and volunteer. We need your help!
If you have not joined us lately at some of our signature events please join us and take part in these wonderful meetings and events. You will enjoy yourself and help us continue to realize our Mission. We thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you in the very near future.
